WordPress has today announced the stable release of WordPress 3.0. This latest version of WordPress is being described as their most important upgrade to date. Microsoft’s Internet Explorer losing browser share

In March we told you about the demand for Bigger, Better Browsers getting fierce. Today it was reported on the BBC News website that Microsoft’s Internet Explorer losing browser share.

“Microsoft’s Internet Explorer (IE) web browser, now accounts for less than 60% of the market, down from 95% at its peak in 2003, according to new figures.”

This is fantastic news for web designers and web users alike. The importance of competition in the web browser market is a vital part in driving the web forward. With new and updated web browser releases, the possibilities for development and expansion of creativity online grows.

Bigger, Better Browsers

The browser battle continues to get fiercer and fiercer. If there is one thing that us web designers hate, it’s old out of date web browsers that don’t do what they should. They make our life a nightmare and upset our clients when compatibility issues arise. These can often be overcome by web users making sure their browser is up to date and being aware of the browser alternatives available to them.

Microsoft was recently forced to ask millions of users across Europe if they want to use a web browser other than its own. This is expected to have an impact on the usage stats for browser alternatives to Internet Explorer.

Meanwhile Google recently announced

If you are still using Internet Explorer, please make sure it is up to date. Also, take a moment to take a look at some of the other browser options available to you.
